Springfield model 1873 unaltered first-model carbine, .45-70 caliber, serial #19433 in Prime Custer range. The carbine shows correct short comb with long wrist, no trap in butt, pinched triggerguard, stacking swivel, and all small parts. The carbine shows a deep blue to brown patina finish with scattered light erosion and pinprick pitting. Some mars around the band area and some slightly heavier pitting on the bottom of the barrel. The stock shows some losses, some gouges, light sanding, and is slightly undersized against the metal. No evidence of cartouche, shows dings, mars and dents. The markings are good, action good.
