If you win an item in the 2018 Cancer Gets Lost Charity Auction for a winning bid amount higher than the starting price of the item, you will automatically receive a tax receipt from our fiscal sponsor, FJC (a few weeks after you receive your auction items).
As is the standard in most online charity auctions of this magnitude, winning bidders will be required to pay a Buyer’s Premium in addition to the winning bid and shipping fee. While other auction sites set these fees in the range of 15-25%, CGL has arranged for a lower Buyer’s Premium fee. For the 2018 Cancer Gets LOST Charity Auction, the Buyer’s Premium fee will only be 10% per item!
An example: if you bid on and win a poster in the CGL Charity Auction for $100, you will pay $100 + shipping + a 10% buyer’s premium ($10).

Buyers are responsible for arranging shipping and for all shipping costs. **The winning bidder is responsible for ANY/ALL Customs and Import Duties, which vary by country. Please check your own country fees/duties before placing bids, and decide for yourself if you are willing and able to cover the additional fees/duties!**
Because CGL is a 2-person operation and CGL’s fiscal sponsor FJC has to process hundreds of payments to the CGL PayPal account, please note: it will take up to 3 WEEKS before we start shipping out items to winning bidders in the 2018 Cancer Gets Lost Charity Auction (to verify and process payments from several hundred different winning bidders)! In order to avoid fraud, which sadly has been an issue for CGL in the past, we take extra time to confirm absolutely every aspect of each winning bidder’s payment information.
Shipment of your items will take place from the end of July through mid-August. We appreciate your patience in advance; with 435 auction items, there is a tremendous amount to process and ship!
All domestic packages will be shipped via USPS, and all will include both insurance and tracking. We will choose the best option for you at the most reasonable cost. Shipping notifications with tracking info will be emailed to winning bidders.
All overseas packages weighing less than 3 pounds will be shipped via USPS International First Class, and packages weighing over 3 pounds will be shipped via USPS International Priority Mail.
Payment Details:
**Please DO NOT submit payment until AFTER you have received your invoice from CGL with the FINAL total, including final bid price, Buyer’s Premium fee and shipping!**
Within 3 days of auction close, we will email winning bidders an itemized invoice for items won in the 2018 Cancer Gets Lost Charity Auction, including the 10% Buyer’s Premium and shipping costs. If you win multiple items, they will be combined on one invoice!
In the email, there will be a link to the Cancer Gets Lost PayPal account, for winning bidders to complete payment. Please do NOT go directly to the PayPal site or app to make payment; you MUST use the PayPal link in the invoice or on CGL’s website in order for the winning bid payments to be made to FJC, for them to process.
PLEASE make sure that you enter the exact amount from your invoice when you make your PayPal payment! This includes winning bid amount(s), shipping and Buyer’s Premium fee.
Payment is expected in full within 7 calendar days of the sale, or within 5 calendar days of the invoice date, whichever is later. Acceptable methods of payment include PayPal and credit cards (via PayPal), which must be made directly to the Cancer Gets LOST PayPal account, accessible externally and only on CancerGetsLost.org. ALL auction item payments must be completed by July 18.
Make sure to forward your PayPal email receipt to CGL so that we can start the invoicing process. *Please include your shipping address in the email, as it is not always listed in the PayPal receipt, and we need it for both shipping and tax receipt purposes! * Email: CGLauctions at gmail dot com

BY EITHER REGISTERING TO BID OR PLACING A BID, THE BIDDER ACCEPTS THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS OF SALE AND ENTERS INTO A LEGALLY, BINDING, ENFORCEABLE AGREEMENT WITH CANCER GETS LOST (“CGL”).
Bidder and Cancer Gets Lost agree that any agreements between the Bidder and CGL, including but not limited to these Conditions of Sale, are entered into in Contra Costa County, California, which is where the agreements are to be performed and the auction to take place, no matter where Bidder is situated and no matter by what means or where Bidder was informed of the auction and regardless of whether catalogs, materials, or other communications were received by Bidder in another location. Both CGL and the Bidder agree that any disputes under these Conditions of Sale, the subject matter hereof, the entering into, or any aspect of the auction, shall be exclusively governed by California law, and that any and all claims or actions shall be brought and maintained only in Contra Costa County, California in a State or Federal Court to the exclusion of any other venue, locale or jurisdiction. All parties submit to such jurisdiction.
1. Starting Bids: In addition to descriptive information, each entry in the catalog includes a starting bid, which is the price that starts the bidding for the item. Starting bids are prepared well in advance of the sale and can be subject to revision. Starting bids do not include the buyer’s premium.
2. Advance Inquiries: Bidders are encouraged to send inquiries pertaining to the auction, as a whole and/or individual lot. You may also request condition reports. Cancer Gets Lost strongly urges the bidder to resolve any questions PRIOR TO BIDDING.
3. Bidding: Property is auctioned in consecutive numerical order, as it appears in the catalog. Cancer Gets Lost shall determine all opening bids and bidding increments. The auctioneer has the absolute discretionary right to reject any bid in the event of dispute between bidders or if the auctioneer has doubt as to the validity of any bid, to advance the bidding and to determine the successful bidder in the event of a dispute between bidders, to continue the bidding or to reoffer and resell the lot in question. In the event of a dispute after the sale, CGL’s record of final sale shall be conclusive.
4. Internet Bids: Cancer Gets Lost is pleased to provide online bidding in real-time. However, CGL is not and cannot be responsible or liable for any problems, delays, or any other issues or problems resulting from use of the Internet generally or specifically, including but not limited to transmission, execution or processing of bids. On some occasions beyond the control of CGL, the bidding software or the Internet itself may not physically keep up with the pace of the auction. In order to help avoid disappointment, CGL recommends placing a realistic absentee bid as early as possible.
5. Successful Bids: The proverbial fall of the auctioneer’s hammer indicates the final bid. CGL will record the paddle number of the buyer. Winning bidders shall be notified with an invoice within 72 hours after the conclusion of the auction.
6. Payment: Payment is expected in full within 7 calendar days of the sale, or within 5 calendar days of the invoice date, whichever is later. This includes the final bid price + the 10% per item buyer’s premium fee + shipping cost. Acceptable methods of payment include PayPal or credit cards (via PayPal) only, paid directly to Cancer Gets LOST via their fiscal sponsor FJC, A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds. All payments must take place via the PayPal link on the CGL website, which directs winning bidders to the specific CGL PayPal account managed by FJC.
7. Shipping: Buyers are responsible for arranging shipping and for all shipping costs, including international custom fees, duties, broker charges, etc.
8. Buyer’s Remedies: As these items are rare collectibles, all sales are final.
