<B>Rare United States 43 Star Flag.</B></I> The 43 star American flag was only flown from 1890 to 1891. This example measures about 4'4" x 7'6". The flag is of multi-piece wool construction with screened on stars. There are three brass grommets in the hoist end for facilitating raising and lowering the flag. There are a few small holes in the body of the flag, moderate tattering at the fly end, and a few small repairs, else very good condition. In 1890, five states were added representing Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Washington.
