Colt-Franklin Model Military bolt action rifle, 45-70 cal., 32-1/2” barrel, 9-shot gravity feed magazine, in-the-white finish, wood full stock, #NVSN. Only about 50 Franklin rifles were manufactured making it one of the rarest models of Colt firearms, their dates of manufacture being between 1887-1888. This gun is in overall very good to fine condition showing some scattered small points of erosion on the barrel and some pitting on the left side of the muzzle, crisp action, fine bore, V, P and eagle proofed on the breech of the barrel, very good wood stock with some scattered nicks, mars and scratches from storage, inspector cartouche “J.R.H. JR.” behind the lower tang; iron cleaning rod and two blued barrel bands. From the Richard Wolfe Collection. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
