Humor writer, better known under his nom de plume, Artemus Ward. ALS signed “Artemus Ward,” one page, 4.5 x 7, November 1, 1866. Letter to an unidentified gentleman, apparently a doctor. In full: “Will you please call this evening, any time between 6 and 11 o’ clock! At the above address. I wish to consult you with regard to my throat.” A few creases and some scattered light toning and soiling, otherwise fine condition.
