Lot of 14. "Manufacturers of Tahoe Beer, Famous as the Lake." 1) Carson Brewing Company stock certificate. Inc. in Nevada, Feb, 1900. No. 14, issued to company president Max Stenz in 1913 for 500 shares. Not cancelled. 2) Four receipts, three different types, 1916, 1920, 1937, and 1938. All advertise their Tahoe Beer. 3) Pictorial letterhead, 1923, sent to the Farmers Bank of Carson Valley in Minden regarding a improper check cashed by the Smith Valley Co-Op. Signed by secretary ME Stenz. 4) Cream soda paper label. 3 x 4.5" 5) Seven covers, most corner ad. covers, sent to the Nevada Industrial Commission, 1918-1922. No contents. The Carson Brewing Company was started by Jacob Klein in 1860. Klein bought out his partners in 1877 and ran the business until he died in 1899. In 1900, Frank Golden and James Raycraft bought the business. Golden and Raycraft sold out in 1910 to the Brewmaster Fritz Hagmeyer and Max Stenz, former owner of the Goldfield Brewery. They created Tahoe Beer and its famous slogan ÏFamous as the Lake.Ó In 1915, they started bottling soda. It was finally closed in 1950. For more info, please see Volume One of the Nevada Bottle Book.
